'Villages, Vignes et Garrigues'
Sally will be exhibiting drawings and prints inspired by the landscapes of the Herault region in the South of France.
26th April to 1st May
Centre Culturel de St Laurent, Saint-Guilhem-le-Desert 34150 France

She first visited the region in 1961 when her uncle Bill Garrad bought the Chateau d’Arboras, a small village in the department de L’Herault, Languedoc-Roussillion situated in the low foothills of the Massif Central. Bill and Bouton Garrad owned the chateau for over 50 years were both also painters.
In 1967, after regular visits to the chateau, she bought a simple medieval stone house situated at the end of the village with rocky mountain terraces behind and views to the North, South, East and West.
She continues to be inspired by the light and colour of the Midi; the cypresses, vines, olive trees, rocks, mountains and sunshine.
